As you no doubt know Austin has over 100 days of rain this year. The entire state of Texas is now out of any drought condition suffered over the past few years. This has been a blessing in it has kept the heat down, prevented us from having to water the grass, and the rain washes our cars weekly. The downside is it knocked over the dead pine tree in our backyard leaving a terrific mess. Welcome to home ownership. As you can see the tree fell perfectly to avoid the neighbor’s fence, the house, or the porch. We truly were lucky. Off course with a tree that needs to be removed the topic of chainsaws came up. Sienna quickly vetoed any idea of
a gas chainsaw because that is what the creepy guys carry in all the scare movies. She made th
e point that you never see a chainsaw wielding maniac running with a cored
behind him. So we bought a Remington 16” Electric Chainsaw. This little puppy could run and made short
work of the tree. The resulting piles were hauled away and the yard
was restored to its needed state of repair. If anyone has any need for some now molded pine wood let me know.

Very impressive use of the chainsaw. Indeed, the bit of stubble in a few of the pictures adds to the mystique. The idea about using the skid steer for backyard renovation is a good one. Just be aware - they are heavy. I severely rutted Brenda Duke's yard when moving the swingset.
